Zen Arts has gone International! Zen Arts performed for “New Years Eve -1” in Beirut Lebanon with DJ Armin Van Buuren. Zen Arts aerialists, fire dancers, acrobats, hoopers and dancers joined the stage with the biggest DJ in the world in front of over 10,000 people at the Biel Center in downtown Beirut. Mix FM hosted the event and designed a show with Armin and Zen Arts that rivals shows in Ibiza, Dubai, and Europe.
Beirut is far ahead of the game when it comes to throwing large-scale events with the biggest DJs in the world. Performers, staging, rigging, pyrotechnics, LED screens, lighting, and of course Zen Arts brought a whole new perspective to a New Years party. Cages overhead with aerialists and dancers with wings, fire performers on the main stage, glow and led hoopers, and of course Zen Arts fashion and airbrush art had the crowd screaming for more.
Zen Arts performed aerial tissu and silk acts, a double aerial hoop act, fire poi, fire staffs, fire hula hoops, male trapeze and a female male trapeze act.
Zen Arts is already scheduled to go back to Beirut for an even bigger show with DJ Paul Van Dyk in February of 2010. Zen Arts cirque performers and aerial acrobats will be soaring through the air on a brand-new apparatus. Los Angeles fire dancers Doug Miller and Susie Culini also the founders of Zen Arts are putting together a fire show never seen before. Stay tuned!

Zen Arts was invited to showcase their talent for about 100 special event planners and party promoters in the OC area. The very exclusive event at Sutra Lounge included a 30-minute show created by Zen Arts aerialists, fire dancers, fire eaters, glow and led performers, and belly dancers. Suffice to say, the showcase went very well.

PLAY II Jungle Pool Party

Zen Arts rocked the wildest (and wettest!) party of the year!
It’s summer time and pool parties are the best way to beat the heat in Los Angeles. So when the organizers of the P.L.A.Y. annual pool party fundraiser asked Zen Arts to perform, how could we resist? We love pool parties…especially when it’s considered the ‘best pool party of the year’.
The sprawling ranch located in the rolling hills of Calabasas was a perfect location to host one of the most popular parties of the summer. And what better way to support a great cause like P.L.A.Y. then with a playground for adults? This estate was perfectly equipped to handle 3000 people, with waterfalls, a water slide, a grotto, basketball and volleyball court (sand included), and a huge pool that puts other pools to shame. For this special event, named ‘Welcome to the Jungle,’ the organizers pulled out all the stops by bringing in live elephants, tigers, lions, giraffes, monkeys, birds, and of course the hottest and wildest talent of Zen Arts.
Zen Arts worked closely with the owner of the house to build two 30-foot high trusses—one was even placed on the stage over the grotto. Zen Arts cirque performers were appropriately dressed for the occasion in original jungle-cirque fashion and finished off with tribal airbrush body and face detail, creating some of the hottest natives in the jungle. Zen Arts performances included aerialists, fire dancers, capoeira dancers and stilt walkers that took place on stage and throughout the grounds. Rrrrrraw!
P.L.A.Y. (Providing Laughter and Amusement for Youth) is a charity organization started by Larry Pollack restaurateur and owner of the famous Saddle Ranch Chop Houses located on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, Universal City Walk, and Scottsdale and Glendale Arizona. P.L.A.Y.’s goal and mission is to provide children who are less fortunate in hospitals, group homes, and shelters, with books, toys, and games. P.L.A.Y.’s goal is to put smiles on children’s faces. The second annual fundraiser pool party was even more successful than the first, ensuring more smiles, and more pool parties to come. Zen Arts knows how to rock pool parties. Bring it.

The Beverly Hilton Hotel and Zen Arts collaborated for the second year in a row for French Tuesdays Annual White Party.
Zen Arts fire dancers, capoeira dancers, and belly dancers performed on a stage built in the center of the pool at the Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel. The Zen Arts performers and firedancers were adorned in white Zen Arts costumes and elaborate airbrush makeup. The crowd was entertained by fantastic acts of fire breathing and fire dancing, as well as belly dance shows featuring exotic snakes, and capoeira dancers doing flips through the air in the middle of the audience. Performances went throughout the evening in front of over a 1000 guests.
French Tuesdays is a nationwide social membership and networking group that gathers in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, San Francisco, and Paris bimonthly at an upscale hotspot in each city.
French Tuesdays has over 18,000 members in the US. Membership is attained by invitation only.
Zen Arts founders Doug Miller and Susie Culini first performed for French Tuesdays last year at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Doug and Susie along with another Zen Arts fire dancer were the only performers last year. This year Zen Arts and the Beverly Hilton upped the scale by bringing not only more fire dancers, but added a unique touch of incorporating capoeira and belly dancers. The Hilton and Zen Arts also collaborated on building a large stage and platform in the center of the pool.
